Friends of Nature House

Casa Antiga is the first official Friends of Nature House in Portugal. The Friends of Nature House is located on the estate of Quinta do Pomarinho in the province Alto Alentejo in Portugal close to the medieval village of Castelo de Vide. The former farmhouse can accommodate 4 to 10 people spread over 4 rooms. It has a private courtyard for shared use by guests present in the Friends of Nature house.

The Friends of Nature House is set up so that it can serve many different functions. You can rent the whole Friends of Nature House with your family, friends, or your own walking group. However, it is also possible to stay at the Friends of Nature House in one or more rooms with just your partner or three or more people.

After walking, cycling, or doing any other activities you can enjoy relaxing at the Friends of Nature House.

Layout Friends of Nature House

Downstairs the Friends of Nature House has a bedroom for 2 people and a bedroom for 2 to 4 people with an attic with 2 single beds. The 2 rooms on the ground floor have 1 shared bathroom with bath and toilet and 1 shared living room with a fireplace and a cozy seating area. There is also a spacious kitchen with a dishwasher, gas stove with oven, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, toaster etc. Only if you rent the entire house, you have sole use of the kitchen. If you rent a room or a floor, you share the kitchen with any other guests in the house!

Upstairs there are two double bedrooms with single beds. The 2 rooms on the upper floor have 1 shared bathroom with shower and toilet and 1 shared living room with a pellet stove. The upper floor also has a spacious terrace with a table and 4 seats.

With the exception of the group packages, you pay € 5 per 15 kilos of wood pellets for heating the pellet stove on the upper floor and € 5 for a large basket with logs for the large open fireplace on the ground floor.

Bedding and linen are provided.

Layout per room

Room 1

is situated on the 1st floor of the Friends of Nature House. The room has 2 single beds which are located directly next to each other. The beds have duvets and pillows.
The room has 1 window with 2 authentic wooden shutters on the inside and with a view over the campsite. The room has a wooden floor. There is also a simple wardrobe in the room. The authentic wooden bedroom door can be locked. The room does not have its own heating or bathroom and opens onto a small living room, with heating, and access to the roof terrace.

Room 2

is located on the 1st floor of the Friends of Nature House right next to the bathroom. The room has 2 single beds that are separate from each other. The beds have duvets and pillows. The room has 1 window with 2 authentic wooden shutters on the inside and with a view over the campsite. The room has a wooden floor. There is also a simple wardrobe in the room and a cupboard with drawers and a mirror above it. The authentic wooden bedroom door can be locked. The room does not have its own heating or bathroom and opens onto a small living room, with heating, and access to the roof terrace.

Room 3

is located on the ground floor of the Friends of Nature House on the right, next to the kitchen. The room has 2 single beds that are located directly next to each other. The beds have duvets and pillows.
The room has 1 window with curtains and a view over the campsite. The room has a wooden floor. There is also a wardrobe in the room. The authentic wooden bedroom door can be locked. The room does not have its own heating or bathroom and opens onto the kitchen and living room with a dining table, seating and fireplace. From the living room you reach the bathroom and the courtyard of the Friends of Nature House.

Room 4

is located on the ground floor of the Friends of Nature House on the left next to the kitchen. The room has 2 single beds that are located directly next to each other. On the mezzanine there are also 2 beds which are ideal for children. All beds have duvets and pillows.
The room has 1 window with curtains and a view of the campsite. The room has a tiled floor. There is also a simple wardrobe in the room. The authentic wooden bedroom door can be locked. The room does not have its own heating or bathroom and opens onto the kitchen and living room with a dining table, seating and fireplace. From the living room you reach the bathroom and the courtyard of the Friends of Nature House.
