Experiences of guests with long stay winter
Below you will find some winter-experiences of former guests of Quinta do Pomarinho.
We are coming back! (February 2011)
We stayed on Quinta do Pomarinho from late February to late March. We have really enjoyed our time here and were never bored. A big thanks to both Phine and Dolf, who always helped us with finding things we could do. We are definitely coming back!
An amazing place (January 2010)
Despite the bad weather of the past period we still thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful surroundings. There is plenty of opportunity for well-marked hiking trails and visiting beautiful old villages. A cultural evening or the organizing of hikes and going out with the group for dinner is no problem for the hosts. The two months that we stayed in holiday apartment ‘Tijmen’ flew by! Thanks for this, Dolf and Phine.
A great location in a quiet area… (January 2009)
In January we stayed in the round house “Casa Redonda” for a month. The weather was sometimes bad, but luckily we had the wood stove. The town of Castelo de Vide is certainly worth visiting. Its 5 minutes by car and 5 quarters of an hour by foot over beautiful trails. You can sit outside as soon as the sun starts shining, where you will be able to look out over a hilly landscape with large stones (megaliths). It’s a great place for walking: there are numerous trails. Once you’ve been here, you’ll certain visit again!

Pleasantly relaxed (November 2008)
Our first experience with a SVR-camping was certainly a good one. The warm welcome, the interest, and the helpfulness have really touched us. Staying on the site is a lot of fun, and we experienced the unforced interactions with other guests and the walks as very pleasant. The walking routes challenge you to explore your surroundings and are well signposted. After more than four weeks we continue our tour of Portugal. Thanks for everything!

We feel at home
We got your address through the SVR. It’s very beautiful here, and it’s great for walks and strolls. We had a few great weeks with you and really enjoyed your hospitality. The weather was wonderful. A lot of sun, no rain, and little wind. Great weather to spend the winter in. We feel at home here. When you went to do groceries you always asked if we needed anything. Together we also did some small chores, such as making a fire, planing doors, and getting water. Thank you for your great care. We’re glad that we have gotten to know you and hope that we will see you more often in the future!
