Our nature camping at the foot of natural park Serra de São Mamede in the Alto Alentejo
Our natural campsite is located at the foot of the Serra de São Mamede Natural Park in the Alto Alentejo. This unique location and environment make our campsite a favorite place to stay.
The camping area of our Quinta is 1.25 hectares in size. The remaining 23.75 hectares of the Quinta mainly consist of grassland, whether or not covered with cork oaks, olive trees, fruit trees, birds, many plant species and a small lake. Our campsite offers guests various camping options. The more adventurous camper who does not want electricity can opt for camping on a nature campsite, for example wild camping under the large cork oak (by reservation only!). Campers with a caravan, camper or tent who want a little more luxury can camp between the olive trees on the campsite or on a flat piece of higher ground. Here you will also find the main sanitary facilities, the reception annex camping shop (with free wifi), the cooling pool, the lake and the meeting room (for a snack and a drink) “A Taberna”(1/10 – 1/4). The natural terrain will make you feel like ‘God in Portugal’ with the hills of the Serra de São Mamede Mountains nearby and the peaks of the Serra da Estrela in the distance. Here you will also find sanitary facilities and an outdoor kitchen with picnic table.
Peace and space are a certainty at our campsite due to the limited number of available camping pitches. There are ± 25 spacious pitches available so that peace is preserved on both the nature campsite and the central part of the campsite.
In order to guarantee one of the most important core values of Quinta do Pomarinho, “REST”, we do not accept new guests at the campsite after 20:00 in the summer season (1 April to 1 October) and in the winter season (1 October to 1 April ) no new guests after 18:00.
Finally, we request that you check in between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM in the period from April 1 to October 1, and in the period from October 1 to April 1 between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
